Resellers use Crosslist Magic, a Chrome extension, to copy listings across 10+ marketplaces like eBay, Mercari, and Grailed.

For example, a vintage clothing seller can use the extension to transfer a Poshmark listing by clicking a single icon that appears on their original listing.

At $9.99/month, Crosslist Magic offers a low-cost option, but serious resellers may find its manual workflow limiting. Learn how to crosslist with Crosslist Magic and explore its pros and cons to see if it fits your reselling workflow. If it doesn’t fit your workflow, we’ll introduce you to Nifty, a powerful Crosslist Magic alternative.

What is Crosslist Magic? The 30-Second Answer

Resellers use Crosslist Magic, a Chrome tool, to manage inventory across multiple marketplaces. It connects Poshmark, eBay, Mercari, and other platforms, letting you manually select which listings to share across each one.

Key Features

  • Browser-based crosslisting: Crosslist Magic operates directly through a Chrome extension, eliminating the need to connect or authenticate selling accounts.
  • Easy crosslisting: You can crosslist items by clicking a small icon that appears in the top-left corner of any listing on supported platforms. The extension opens a new tab with pre-filled listing drafts on target marketplaces for review and submission.
  • Multi-platform crosslisting capabilities: Crosslist on 10+ reselling platforms like Etsy, Vinted, Mercari, eBay, and Depop.
  • Unlimited crosslisting with no item restrictions: The platform places no limits on the number of items users can crosslist, making it suitable for sellers with large inventories.

How Does Crosslist Magic Work?

Crosslist Magic works through a Chrome extension, copying listings across marketplaces without needing to connect your accounts. It saves time by transferring existing listings from one platform to another. Here’s how to get started with Crosslist Magic:

  1. Install the browser extension: Download the Crosslist Magic Chrome extension from the homepage and pin it to your browser. Log in to your selling accounts on supported platforms like Poshmark, eBay, Mercari, and Depop through separate browser tabs.
  1. Navigate to your listings and activate the crosslist icon: Visit the source marketplaces where you want to start crosslisting your listings. Click the Crosslist Magic icon to begin crosslisting.
  1. Select target platforms: Choose which marketplaces you want to crosslist your item to from the available platform options. Crosslist Magic automatically copies listings, photos, descriptions, and product details for each selected platform. Review these drafts carefully and make any necessary adjustments before publishing.
  1. Edit listings details manually: Edit and modify titles, descriptions, pricing, and categories to match each platform's unique requirements and audience preferences. Add platform-specific hashtags, adjust shipping options, and optimize keywords for better search visibility on each marketplace.
  1. Submit listings and monitor performance: Submit your reviewed and customized listings to each individual marketplace. Monitor your inventory across platforms to track sold listings and manually remove them when they sell.

Crosslist Magic vs. Nifty: What's the Difference?

For instance, Crosslist Magic offers a browser-based crosslisting extension; however, Nifty provides crosslisting, AI-generation tools, automation, performance analytics, and inventory management for both part-time and full-time resellers.

What I liked and didn't like about Crosslist Magic

When I tested Crosslist Magic, I found both strengths and limitations. It offers a large number of platforms for crosslisting, like Poshmark, Facebook Marketplace, and Grailed. But it lacks advanced features like AI-generated text, analytics, and delisting.

Pros (what actually works)

  • Helpful developer team: If you have issues using Crosslist Magic, message the developer team through their website. In fact, when a user mentioned problems on a review site, a developer promptly replied to get more details so he could fix the issues. (November 29, 2024)

  • Simple interface with minimal learning curve: The extension operates through familiar browser functionality, no setup or configuration needed. Another user claimed that they set up the system quickly, and it was easy to use. (February 15, 2024)
  • Budget-friendly: At $9.99/month, Crosslist Magic fits nearly any budget.

Cons (where it falls short)

  • Manual editing after crosslisting: Crosslist Magic requires sellers to manually click through each listing and description and review every draft before submission across target platforms.

  • No analytics capabilities: The extension lacks data tracking, sales performance metrics, and inventory management reporting, which complicates your analysis of crosslisting strategies.
  • Clunky AI capabilities still in beta testing: Crosslist Magic only offers an AI tool that describes one picture at a time. You can’t upload multiple images, and the auto-generation description tool falls short compared to others.

Note: We couldn’t find any recent Crosslist Magic negative user reviews, as the newest ones date back to 2023. Compared to other platforms we test and review, Crosslist Magic also had a low number of recent positive reviews (dating back to late 2024), indicating that fewer people use the tool.

Should you use Crosslist Magic? My take

You should use Crosslist Magic if you’re a casual seller who needs to manage small inventories and can accept manual processes in exchange for affordable crosslisting capabilities. However, it disappoints serious sellers who want to save time with automated description writing, analytics, and delisting capabilities.

Use this checklist to see if Crosslist Magic fits your crosslisting needs:

Crosslist Magic is perfect for …

  1. Resellers on a budget who prioritize cost savings: Crosslist Magic appeals to sellers who want to avoid paying more than $10/month while accessing basic crosslisting functionality across multiple platforms.
  1. Part-time resellers and side hustlers with small inventories: These resellers benefit from Crosslist Magic's simple approach to transferring listings between marketplaces. They typically manage small inventories and don't need inventory tracking, automated relisting, or detailed analytics capabilities.
  1. Sellers who want to list on multiple marketplaces: Sellers who want to expand their marketplace reach beyond single platforms find value in Crosslist Magic's broad platform compatibility with 10+ marketplaces, including Poshmark, eBay, Shopify, Instagram, and Grailed.

Skip Crosslist Magic if you …

  • Need real automation for scaling: Serious resellers require automated relisting, bulk editing capabilities, and scheduled operations that Crosslist Magic can’t provide through its manual browser-based approach.

  • Want to track profits, fees, or inventory performance: Crosslist Magic provides no analytics, profit tracking, or inventory management capabilities that resellers need for business optimization and tax preparation.

  • Want to manage more than one platform at a time: The extension lacks inventory updating or auto-delisting features that prevent overselling when items are listed on multiple marketplaces simultaneously.

Crosslist Magic serves budget-conscious casual sellers but falls short for large-scale reselling business operations that require automation and analytics. Choose Crosslist Magic for basic crosslisting needs, but upgrade to professional tools like Nifty if you’re scaling your business.

My verdict on Crosslist Magic

Crosslist Magic handles small inventories at a low price, making it a good fit for sellers focused on keeping software costs low. My testing showed that this crosslisting app handles small inventories well for casual resellers, but performance issues and limited automation make it a poor fit and too time-consuming for part-time and full-time sellers.

But, if you're managing a larger inventory and need to track sales and remove listings quickly, Crosslist Magic may slow you down or cause missed sales. Resellers who need inventory tracking, automation, or protection against overselling are better off with a tool like Nifty that offers full reseller business management tools.

Ready to scale your reselling business?

Looking for a reselling tool that offers more than Crosslist Magic’s simple functions? Nifty offers an alternative with automated listing features and analytics that track profits and inventory. Here’s why you should pick Nifty:

  • Smart AI listings: Snap a photo and let Nifty’s AI generate titles, descriptions, and tags. They’re complete with SEO keywords, trending hashtags, and pre-filled fields that save you serious time.

  • Sold? We delist it: Whenever an item sells, Nifty removes it from every platform. No more double-selling or “already sold” messages.
  • Bulk edits without burnout: Relist, discount, and update dozens of listings simultaneously. Your store continues to run smoothly while Nifty handles the busywork.
  • Real numbers, real profits: View your sales, profit margins, top sellers, and stale inventory all in one dashboard. Spot what’s selling and cut what’s sitting.
